DELIVERY OF THE FIRST OWC TANK TO THE COMPANY LANFER WILLIG-NEWS: COOPERATION WITH TÜV SÜD TÜV SÜD and WILLIG have been working hand in hand for more than 30 years. In this long time, a very good relationship of trust has developed. Special projects are coordinated in advance in order to avoid difficulties as well as unnecessary time losses and costs. The TÜV takes over all ADR acceptance tests at WILLIG in the current production and also the type ex- amination before they are approved by the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM). The tank expert Peter Wyrzgol, who performs practical tests and also carries out type examinations, works on site in Strau- bing. Michael Krämer, who is based in Munich, will take over examinations of the FEM calculati- ons for type approvals. WILLIG was one of the first to start with his own calculations using the Finite Element Analysis (FEM) method for the models. Michael Krämer is also active in the natio- nal and international stan- dardisation together with Christian Zankl (Technical Management at WILLIG). The close cooperation has many advantages, which directly benefit the WILLIG customers. The high stan- dard and the high quali- ty of the inspections and acceptances are always assured. The TÜV has an open ear for the problems and concerns of the vehic- le manufacturer. WILLIG can directly contribute to the standards for pressure tanks (EN 14025) and unpressurised tanks (EN 13094) as well as for equipment and is therefore always up to date. Uniform criteria have been established for the perfor- mance and evaluation of FEM calculations for ADR tanks. There was also a close cooperation regarding the approvals for the carbon container and the carbon mini tank of Omni Willig Carbon GmbH (OWC) as well as the development of test procedures and criteria for the carbon containers, together with OWC, Mr. Krämer (TÜV SÜD) and BAM. After more than 23 years of successful coope- ration, our esteemed colleague Manfred Kirm- se is going into the well-deserved retirement. He was our sales representative in the Berlin area, especially for the zip code areas 10 and 12 to 17. Since February 2019, our customer service has been handled by our Seefeld branch manager Kristian Kretzschmar. The trained automotive mechatronics engineer has been with WILLIG for more than ten years and has been the branch manager in Seefeld since January 2012. In 2010 he qualified as a service technician and in 2014 he passed the extra-professional examination of auto- motive technician at the IHK Frankfurt/Oder. Our subsidiary Omni Willig Carbon GmbH (OWC) has handed over the first globally ac- cepted tank container made of CFRP to Lanfer Transporte GmbH & Co. KG in Meppen. With the carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) hazar- dous goods tanks, OWC sells special contai- ners for aggressive media class 8 as well as high-purity products of class 5.1. that have very special requirements. In the future, the 3,100 kg light, 22,500-liter container delivered to Lanfer will transport aggressive media such as pillars of salt and chlorites through Europe. Ano- ther nine containers will follow in the next few weeks. MANFRED KIRMSE GOES INTO RETIRE- MENT NOLIMITS | 3
